OUR STORY

Since Matt's college days at Cincinnati Christian University, he had dreams of one day planting a church, but little did he know this dream would become a reality only six years later! Matt was the youth minister at Southside Christian Church in Harrodsburg, Kentucky for eight years, and then at Hillsboro Church of Christ in Hillsboro, Ohio for three years. Matt absolutely LOVED Youth Ministry (probably because he is still a kid himself), but felt the Lord was leading him somewhere else. That calling was finally realized over a few months. In February 2010, Matt got a call from Stadia (a church planting organization) asking if he would be interested in planting a church. Matt and Kristy prayed and decided to walk through all open doors to see if this was where God was leading them. They attended CPAC (church planter assessment), in March, and left knowing without a doubt that they would be planting a church in west metro Atlanta! Matt and Kristy packed their house and children up in August and moved to Douglasville, GA. Matt and Kristy have a passion for reaching the lost, lonely, and hurting. They love God and love people, and are so excited to see what God has planned for them and ONE Community Church, as they follow His leading and are obedient to His calling.

Matt and Kristy were highschool sweethearts and have been together since the age of 14! They were married on June 1, 2002, and have three children Izaiah(2004), Braylon(2005), & Layla(2008).
